About MyTravelStatus
MyTravelStatus counts Schengen 90/180 days, UK visits and tax-residence days for people who spend long stretches in Europe, and keeps a dated record they can show. Here's who runs it and how we keep the rules right.
Who we are
Who runs the site
MyTravelStatus is operated by The Burrowbridge Group, LLC (opens in a new tab), a South Dakota limited liability company. The same company runs Relo2France (opens in a new tab), a membership site for people moving to France, whose members get the Schengen tracker inside their Relo2France account.
We are not a law firm or a government agency, and nothing on the site is legal advice. We build the tools we'd want for ourselves: a count you can trust, the reasons behind every number, and a record that stands up when someone asks where you've been.
Who writes and checks the content
The guides, the free calculator and the rules behind them are written and reviewed by The MyTravelStatus team. Every guide says when it was last reviewed, links to the official sources it relies on, and shows its worked examples with real dates. Those examples are run through the same rules engine as the tracker every time we change the site, so a figure in a guide can't drift away from what the tracker would tell you.
How we check the rules
How the rules are researched and kept current
- From the published texts. The count follows the rules as written: the Schengen Borders Code for the 90/180 rule, the regulations and decisions that set when each country joined, the UK's Immigration Rules for visits and the published tax-residence tests. Where a text leaves a real question open, we keep the cautious reading, say so on the page, and list it as a question for an expert rather than guess.
- Counted in one place. Days are counted on our server by a single rules engine, with automated tests for each rule and each worked example. The free calculator, the tracker, its alerts and the PDF report all ask that engine, so they can't disagree with each other.
- Checked every week. Every Monday an automated research run checks a list of official sources (EU law and the EU's travel pages, the UK government's visitor and residence guidance, and the French, Spanish and Portuguese tax authorities) for changes since the week before, and runs a web search for rule changes announced in the last eight days, using Anthropic's Claude. It reads only public pages: none of your data is involved.
- Reviewed by a person. The research never changes anything by itself. Each finding goes to our team, who read the source, decide whether the rules, a guide or the calculator need to change, and update the review date when they do.
The Entry/Exit System, in use since 10 April 2026, is the official record of visitors' entries and exits. If your own record and the official one ever differ, the tracker helps you find out why and ask for a correction. The EES guide explains how.
Your data
What we do with your trips
Your trips are used to run the tracker for you: your counts, alerts and reports. Your data is stored in the EU and we don't sell it. There are no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics, and you can export everything we hold, or delete your account, at any time. The details are in the privacy policy.
